Hi! My name is Kristen Porter photographer and founder at KRISP Event Photography, LLC. I am a wife, a mother of two beautiful children and a small business owner. I have been practicing photography since I started college in 2003, but did not get serious about studying photography and taking pictures every day until after the birth of my daughter in 2008. After she was born, I could not put my camera down and took it with me everywhere I went. My husband dubbed me the paparazzi soon afterwards.  However, despite my constant photographic attacks of my family, my husband supports my photography addiction and purchased a replacement camera for me last year after I accidentally dropped the last one he bought me in the sand at the beach (oops!). We also have a son who is three years old and they keep us pretty busy. One thing you will notice as you look over my blog this year is that I LOVE taking pictures of my kids! I can’t get enough and love watching them grow, learn and change.

Although photography is one of my main loves, I have many other interests too! Some of my other interests include business and stocks, coloring (because who doesn’t love coloring, right?), reading, journal writing, cultures and languages, baking, gardening and music! I hope that I can share all of my many interests with you on my blog; I hope that it will be a good showcase of who I am and the things that I enjoy most.  Now that I’ve shared my interests and how I got started in photography, I am going to share five random facts about me so you can get a better idea of who I am.  First, I double majored in business administration and Spanish while in school.  Second, I was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1985, but I was raised in the Bronx. Third, I have a group of favorite companies that I love to follow in business news.  Fourth, I studied abroad in Granada, Spain for a semester and LOVED every minute of it! Lastly, I love playing board games and card games with my family and friends.  So, that’s all about me for now, but if you follow my blog posts you’ll learn all sorts of little tidbits about me (and my family) throughout the year! Thanks for stopping by my blog and don’t forget to come back!
